Carrots

   The cook in my school, noticing that I was eating some carrots during breakfast, approached me and said: "Hehe, carrots are healthy. Good for you. After all, when's the last time you saw a rabbit with glasses?"

  1. Not funny. Apparently, it is a myth that they are good for your eyes.

  2. It's not a myth; carrots are high in vitamin A, which can help vision. See here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrot#Nutrition

  3. Maybe, but that is not the only source.

    * Sweet potatoes or yams
    * Canteloupe
    * Spinach
    * Carrots
    * Butter nut squash

    In any case, many people who eat lots of carrots still have bad vision. All I am saying is that a does not necessarily lead to b. Eating carrots does not necessarily improve eye sight.

  4. Oh - it seems like the rabbit in Alice in Womderland wears glasses. Nevermind.

    Carrots -as well as the other things mentioned- are all good for your eyes. I suppose carrots are better known as being so because they have more vitamin A. I maintain it's still a joke.

  5. The myth that carrots are good for your eyes started during WWII.
